Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel's Erik Clanton has been named to the Defensive Lineman of the Year list in the FCS division by College Football Performance Awards.
The redshirt senior has recorded a team-high eight sacks, moving him into fourth all-time in the Bulldog record books for sacks in a single season. He has 53 total tackles on the season to go along with three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery for 40 yards, a quarterback hit and 12 tackles for a loss of 52 yards.
Clanton's eight sacks rank him eighth in the FCS in sacks per game and ranks No. 29 nationally in tackles for a loss per game.
